Dave Brubeck Discography - Acknowledgements

If you copy or re-distribute the text of this discography, please ensure that it is credited to www.brubeck.info.

Many hundreds of hours went into researching, compiling, and updating it, thanks to the many contributors listed below.

Thanks are due to the following people and organisations for supplying information held in this archive and discography. In particular, I would like to properly acknowledge the efforts of those who have scanned pictures, worked out track timings, and laboriously cross-referenced catalogue numbers.

Album information

* Malcolm Wallace collected the original lists of over one hundred albums featuring Dave Brubeck and/or the DBQ.
* Mole Jazz, a specialist shop in London which holds regular auctions of rare material, was the source of many of Brubeck's more obscure recordings in my personal collection.
* Bob Coughlin supplied the detailed information on the pre-Columbia recordings.
* Roy Tresadern supplied me with copies of seven rare albums and much information on the early Fantasy releases.
* David J. Seekamp supplied the detailed track listings for several albums: [ Time Signatures | Jazz Collection | Jazz Impressions of Japan | Newport 58 | Angel Eyes | Brandenburg Gate - Revisited | Bossa Nova USA ]
* Michael Fitzgerald supplied detailed information for these recordings: [ Two Generations of Brubeck | Brother, the Great Spirit Made Us All ]
* Eric van der Meer provided the track listing for Take Five Live (feat Carmen Mcrae).
* Grzegorz Lipczyk provided information for the Czechslovakian compilation.
* Mike Davis supplied track listings for [ Brubeck Plays Brubeck | The Light in the Wilderness | A Dave Brubeck Christmas | To Hope! - A Celebration | Dave Brubeck Quartet | Dave Brubeck Trio with Cal Tjader ] and the timings for [ Anything Goes | Brubeck Time | Southern Scene | Jazz Impressions of the USA | Jazz Goes to Junior College | DBQ in Europe | Brubeck/Mulligan Live at the Berlin Philharmonie | Brubeck Trio ]

Sheet music information

* Kent Wingerson supplied a great deal of information about Brubeck's printed music, both jazz transcriptions for piano and band, and orchestral and choral works.
* Matt Kozlov supplied information about some sheet music of Paul Desmond's sax solos.

Artwork

* Notwithstanding their use here, the original record labels and artists retain copyright over the album cover art and other works displayed here.
* JazzNet's Lee M Cohen produced the big photo of the young Brubeck which graces the front door of this site. The black and white original was retouched into colour as promotional material for the San Francisco Jazz Festival in 1994.
* The Brubeck Institute was the source of the photo of the older Brubeck on the front page. They credit it to Peter Frischmuth/argus.
* UCI Jazz provided album cover photos for around 20 of the earlier albums.
* Gekko web consultancy scanned around 40 of the album cover photos, mainly the CDs.
* Mike Davis scanned around 30 of the album cover photos.
* Robert Franklin took the digital photos of the concert at the Mondavi Winery.
* Ronnie James took the B+W photo of Dave at a concert in Washington DC.
